Proper storage preserves peptide integrity and ensures consistent results across experiments. Lyophilized peptides are significantly more stable than reconstituted solutions.
Lyophilized (Dry) Peptide Storage
- Short-term: Room temperature (up to 30 days) in original sealed vial
- Long-term: Freezer at -20 °C or below — recommended for most compounds
- Protect from: Light, moisture, and repeated temperature cycling
- Shelf life: Typically 24–36 months when frozen in sealed vials
Reconstituted Peptide Storage
- Refrigerate at 2–8 °C immediately after reconstitution
- Use within 3–4 weeks for most compounds
- Do not freeze and thaw reconstituted solutions repeatedly
- Store upright, away from light, in clearly labelled containers
